As one struggling with the sheer physical inactivity involved in constant net use, this journey could be seen as a physical{human} need to involve all/most of the senses whilst interacting in an almost purely mental world-keystrokes and mouse clicks aside.

Hi Azdel,
Oops, I think that is a typo! The thinking towards clicking on people in RL was reflexive - as were the deja vu like experiences of walking up the subway stairs and such finding my mind's eye shifting involuntarily to Second Life for brief moments. Disturbing and fascinating at the same time. This is not a new phenomena for sure - I've experienced such prior to this but never with the intensity and frequency as during this emmersive reenactment. I was also dreaming quite regularly of SL during this time frame.

This really is fascinating, Joseph, thanks for posting it.

Did you write "On more than one occasion I found himself..." instead of myself, on purpose? Can you say more about this experience of confusion? Did you just want to click on people, or did you find yourself wanting to? It seems that people commonly describe experiences like this, for example, after working on ray tracing applications or 3d modeling, looking at objects in the world differently. Do you think it was similar to that, or different? I sometimes ind that after using SL for a while, I think of people on the street as avatars and environments as parts of SL, but not as confusion, more as musing.

Hi Sarah:)

Thanks for your positive feedback. I'm not sure if you are referring to the Augmentology project in general, or this specific project: “The Salt Satyagraha Online: Gandhi’s March to Dandi in Second Life”. If it's the latter, the project isn't mine - the credit goes to Joseph DeLappe. + Agreed totally that the work is stunning.

I just had a quick look at _Aquabatics Research_ which looks extremely interesting. Care to say more about it? I can see some tremendous potential in the utilization of Diving/Altered States of Consciousness/creative output.

Cheers,
mez
